How to make a personal greenhouse
This is a basic guide to making your own personal desktop greenhouse.
Building the greenhouse and fruitcage winter 2009
We have taken over a derelict allotment and are busy restoring it. This video records our eventually successful attempt to build a greenhouse and fruit cage. The allotment is in Sunniside, Gateshead, in the North East of England.
Horticulture Program
Students learn how to grow greenhouse foliage, bedding plants and flowering bulb crops. Students practice floral and landscape design basics and make flower arrangements and body flowers. The advanced students make floral wall hangings, sympathy an dwedding designs. Ground maintenance is also taught, using the school grounds as an outdoor learning laboratory. Finally, students learn how to read blueprints and establish a landscape according to blueprint information
Is building a small green house and growing / selling potted plants to local nurseries a lucrative business?
I have worked at a garden center for 5 years during which I have learned a lot about plants and the inner workings of the nursery business. Recently I have been considering building a small green house and selling plants locally. If I wanted to make this worth my while… How big does the nursery need to be? About how many plants do I need to grow? And what types of plants have good mark-up value and are fairly easy to grow? Any and all advice welcome! Thanks for your help!
